Why is the vizualisation poorer than the General view?
I probably don't know yet all the functionalities of Gephi, but here is my problem: I open a graph in General View mode (Vue d'ensemble) I have taken care of the weights so that in the General view, some edges are thin, others medium weight and others thick. This is perfect Then I go to previsualisa...

How do I embed a font in the PDF file produced by gephi?
It worked fine! Now I have another problem, I don't know if I should continue this discussion or start a new one. I use Chinese characters in the label of my graph, using font SimSun. They display fine in gephi's interface but the font is not exported in the PDF file (so that my graph in the PDF fil...

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
It works now! The error was that in Linux environment variables, directories are separated by colons and not by semicolons. Thank you very much again and happy news year's eve!

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
Still doesn't work: /usr/local/java/bin/java -cp "lib/gephi-toolkit.jar;." -Xms128m -Xmx260000m graphlayout.Main Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: graphlayout/Main Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: graphlayout.Main at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.j...

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
Unfortunately when I run
/usr/local/java/bin/javac -cp lib/gephi-toolkit.jar graphlayout/Main.java
I get the reply:
Note: Attempting to workaround javac bug #6512707
and no file is created…
Any idea what this means and whether it can be fixed?
Here is my javac version: javac 1.6.0_21

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
Thank you so much!! Just another four tiny questions: 1) THREADS_COUNT=3, if the machine has 32 processors, can I put THREADS_COUNT=32 ? 2) do I need to change gephi.conf so that gephi uses a maximum of memory, or will this happen automatically? 3) well understood I can change the color of nodes aft...

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
I can't launch gephi on the Linux server since there is no X display, I guess that is normal/ I downloaded the toolkit and opened it. In the README.md file it says: > Open the project in Netbeans IDE. > - Each demo is independent from each other. > - Run demos by calling script() method. > - Change ...

Re: Fastest algorithm for beginners
Thanks for your answer. Do you mean Force Atlas or Force Atlas 2? Where do I enable barnes-hut approximation? I couldn't find it in the Spatialization panel… The code for the toolkit looks very scary (I confess I never liked Java, do all my programming in Perl). All I want is: 1) open a graph stored...

Gephi out of memory, how to increase it?
After some 24 hours on processing by Force Atlas 2 my graph (16k vertices, 39k edges), I got the same error message as some other user of this forum in October: The project file couldn't be opened. Please check the file has .gephi extension. ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException - 0 Gephi said something ab...
