Removing itext library and rebuilding Gephi from source code

Hi,

My client is telling us that they will not use Gephi unless I rebuild from source code by deleting itext library.

Is there any way to remove the itext library and all its dependencies from the Gephi source code and rebuild?

I personally like Gephi tremendously and am trying to convince them to use Gephi. But they insist that they cannot use unless itext is removed.
