Is it possible to change colors of hulls ?

Hi Thibault,

The hull color has the color of the node when it's contracted. So to change a hull color, retract it (Right-Click on the Window > Contract) and change node's color with the brush tool for instance.

And, a last question about hulls : is it possible to see them in the preview mode ? and if i export my file, can i keep the hulls ?

No sorry not for the moment, though it is in the roadmap.

An exporting option for hulls would be extremely usefull... but... What happened with those "potatoes" of the version 0.6?? to me they look better than the hulls, just because the line that appear between nodes of the periphery of the hull looks like a link, and that could be confusing once you want to publish the figure in a scientific journal.

An exporting option for hulls would be extremely usefull

The new Preview API is now done and will be included in the upcoming release. That gives the (awaited) flexibility to develop preview plug-ins! Adding hulls to preview will be quite simple to implement.

What happened with those "potatoes" of the version 0.6??

Woah if you were already around at the time of the 0.6 version you are one of our early adopter

Potatoes (or more correctly named implicit surfaces or metaballs) are simply to expensive to compute in real-time. The algorithm is quite heavy. But again after we publish the new PreviewAPI nothing avoids to implement potatoes in Preview as well. The new Renderer SPI has a preProcess() method specially designed to compute long algorithms on preview like edge bundling or metaballs.

Today in the lab we were talking about the upcoming release and the things that will possibly include such as the improved time line, exporting to avi, dynamic attributes, etc... Do you have any prediction on when are you going to release it?
