Label borders not showing when exporting tag cloud to svg

In Preview, my tag cloud consists of labels in white letters on backgrounds ("label edge") in various scales of gray (set in Overview>>Ranking>>Edges>>Label color). But when exporting to SVG/PDF, I get only the white letters on a completely white background, without the label edges. What did I do wrong? Thankful for any help.
