BalloonTreeLayoutPlugin and other older plugins

i'm experimenting with different layout algorithms, and find a few that i USED to use that seem not to work under 0.8.2_beta?

eg#1, https://marketplace.gephi.org/plugin/spatial-ranking/: i download, install and activate it, but it doesn't appear in the list of available layouts?

eg#2 BalloonTreeLayoutPlugin, cf. http://gephi.org/pipermail/gephi-plugin ... 00019.html
i find the code and .nbm files at https://code.launchpad.net/~phreakociou ... youtPlugin, but attempting to install it throws:

Some plugins require plugin org.gephi.algorithms to be installed.
The plugin org.gephi.algorithms is requested in version 0.7.1.  The following plugin is affected:       BalloonTreeLayoutPlugin

i know there has been a move from gephi.org/plugins/ to marketplace.gephi.org, but are there other non-backward incompatibilities to know about?
