Creating a timeline

I am trying to create a dynamic graph of student social networks using Gephi.

I have followed the instructions for creating a timeline, but when I select my start date and end dates to merge columns, it gives me an error message:

"The merge strategy cannot be executed to the given columns"

Any ideas?

Are you using Gephi 0.9+? Make sure your time representation is Interval and not Timestamp (check configuration dialog in data laboratory).
