Date formats in the data laboratory

Hi everyone,
 
I'm a new user but loving what gephi can do. I'm trying to learn as much as quickly as I can, so sorry if this is a basic question. I was wondering if you can change the date format in the data laboratory? I want to change the way my dynamic edge weight column interprets dates (e.g. so that when I paste in <[2012-09-03, 2014-01-01, 1]> it is accepted, rather than converted to large decimal numbers.
