Interesting paper on a use-case scenario: network monitoring.
The authors created a dedicated graph-viz tool for the study of similarity on cluster dynamics and anomaly detection, as other tools like Cytoscape and Gephi can't currently handle that. I propose you, as a goal for the Gephi 0.8, that making third party developers able to build this kind of application on top of Gephi 0.8 framework.
