Hi,
Seems like you'd need to write a bit of script for that, outside of Gephi. Any programming language (Python, Java, R ...) would have libraries to help you.
Best,
Clement

Re: How to add new columns into the edge table with a .csv f
Hi, Thickness of the edge will vary if you add a column that you call "Weight", which should be of "Float" type. Values are supposed to be positive, so in your case you could just use the convention that a very small value (0.1) wd represent negative correlations, and large values (3.0) positive one...

Re: Data Import from CSV file
Hi, To do that you could you a software I've written: https://github.com/seinecle/Gaze/wiki/Gaze:-find-structure-in-your-networks However you'd need to slightly reformat the csv you have (Gaze needs to have just one attribute per line, so you need to write your node for as many lines as attributes i...

Re: Ego network as a tree
There is a filter doing that, in the filter section. But it keeps edges between the neighbours of the ego.

Re: Make stronger weight edges stand out
Hi, if you have access to programmatic means I'd suggest to save your file in a gexf format ( File -> export -> Graph, then select gexf format). Then you'd modify with a script the z attribute of the source and target nodes involved in the edges you want to place in the forefront. (The z attribute c...

Re: Getting Started Question
Hi, To go from a db or Excel to a network such as the one you depict, you can: - use the plugin I've written which does just that: https://marketplace.gephi.org/plugin/excel-csv-converter-to-network/ But it's imperfect in the sense that it does not allow for the customization you'd need (interpret "...

Re: make the location of vertices fixed when adding new edge
Hi, If I understand your question, the gexf file format allows you to set the position of nodes (vertices), so that they would always appear at the same place each time you open your file. So: - open your network in csv format - export to gexf format (File -> Export -> Graph file -> select gexf in t...

Re: Create pre-specified clusters
Hi, To create different visual renderings for different parts of your network, you can use filters. Filter enable you to temporarily hide some parts of the graph while you work on the colors / size / labels of the visible part. Check my pdf on "advanced functions of Gephi" (tutorial number 6), inclu...
