The above fix on the sumnous blog works for El Capitan as well - working for me on 10.11, just had to install the legacy Java and then delete the Gephi apps support home. Luckily I don't need Java 7 for anything!!

Not sure if Gephi is being actively developed at present - it all seems to have gone a bit quiet - are there any developers out there working on it?

Hi all,

I'm having no luck at all installing Gephi on Yosemite. I've installed Java 6 and tried altering the jkd_home paths as prescribed by previous posts, all leading to failures. I'm trying to use Gephi as part of a larger tool kit for customers. We'd like to use this tool if it can be made to run on Yosemite or just even under a modern JDK. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Following this http://sumnous.github.io/blog/2014/07/24/gephi-on-mac/ didn't solve my problem.

However gephi were up and running when I reverted the line jdkhome=\"$(/usr/libexec/java_home -v 1.6)\" to /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home

Not for me. below is the log showing that the crash is related to java. I then went to http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572 to grab the recommended java installation file for yosemite, installed and rebooted and ... nothing happened. any other ideas? thanks

I'm on 10.10 too, and following by the below method, my Gephi 0.8.2 works smoothly.

No, it does not work at all. At least on my Macbook, I just installed Yosemite yesterday, and now I cannot even open Gephi. I think there might be some problems with Java, since Yosemite supports Java 8 only, not previous versions.
